Position Summary
The Petrochemical Coordinator plays a critical liaison role between Petrochemical Marketing, Refining, VCO, customers, and suppliers to ensure seamless management of operational, quality, and contractual obligations. This position works closely with Petrochemical Marketing Traders, Schedulers, and Galveston Bay refinery personnel to develop and execute optimized regional supply plans, evaluate market opportunities, and align supply strategies with refinery capabilities. The successful candidate will possess strong interpersonal, technical, and analytical skills, demonstrating a solid understanding of refinery operations, logistics, and market dynamics. They will proactively identify process inefficiencies, manage third-party relationships, and coordinate rapid response efforts during unplanned outages to minimize operational disruptions. Additionally, the role involves supporting petrochemical projects across MPC's network, monitoring market trends, and collaborating across the value chain to unlock commercial opportunities and mitigate supply chain risks. This position requires a self-motivated, organized team player capable of driving continuous improvement and strategic decision-making within a dynamic petrochemical marketing environment.

Education and Experience
Supply & Distribution Coordinator
Bachelor's degree required. Engineering or related field preferred.
Three (3) years of experience in Refining or Commercial roles, with exposure to refinery operations and economics and planning preferred
Senior Supply & Distribution Coordinator
Bachelor's degree required. Engineering or related field preferred.
Seven (7) years of experience in Refining or Commercial roles, with exposure to refinery operations and economics and planning preferred

Key Responsibilities
- Work with the Petrochemical traders to continuously monitor global and regional petrochemical market trends, feedstock availability, and pricing fluctuations to inform supply planning and strategic decision-making. Identify potential risks related to supply chain disruptions or market volatility and develop mitigation strategies to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Manage infrastructure alignment meetings and agreements with third parties across MPC's system to communicate planned outages and identify potential risks related to supply chain disruptions, regulatory changes, or market volatility and develop mitigation strategies to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Act as a key point of contact during unplanned outages and upsets, coordinating with RVCO and maintenance/operations to ensure actuate timelines are established and communicated.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with third parties to optimize contract terms and service delivery flexibility.
- Provide project support and development for petrochemical related projects and decision support packages to resolve bottlenecks and unlock additional value for the petrochemical team.
- Manage 3rd party nominations with symbiotic customers at GBR.
- Coordinates with stakeholders to evaluate economics to realize commercial opportunities.
- Evaluates and present market opportunities on consistent and timely basis. Leads collaboration meetings with the value chain to discuss local economic drivers.
- Communicates opportunities and plans to internal stakeholders using standard communication methods.
- Demonstrates an understanding of refinery operations, economics, and market dynamics for multiple refineries.
- Demonstrates an understanding of logistics within area of responsibility.
- Identifies process inefficiencies and opportunities. Sets goals associated with tool improvement, logistics data, and intelligence gathering.
- Contributes to tracking of commercial performance within the areas of responsibility.
- Shares constraints and opportunities with Business Development / Commercial Strategy team to assess with challenges and opportunities.
