AtkinsRéalis UK Transportation business brings together the capabilities of our Rail and Transit, Rail Systems, Strategic and Regional Highway and Local Transport teams, into a single business of engineering professionals transport planners and consultants. The unique breadth of services in Transportation, combined with our scale, makes AtkinsRéalis the leading UK transportation infrastructure consultancy. Your Purpose:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Regional Lead to manage our relationships with combined and local authorities in city regions. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of our services, building strong client relationships, and driving strategic growth and in particular to grow our portfolio of work helping our client advance devolution, plan for and invest in sustainable transport.

The successful candidate will report to the Client Director (City Regions) and be responsible for working with framework managers to build and maintain strong relationships with city regions (Combined Authorities and the associated Metropolitan/Unitaries) to ensure the successful delivery of our services and driving growth.

What you can bring:

Client Relationship Management -
  • Establish and maintain strong, long-term relationships with city regions and local authority clients, understanding their unique needs and ensuring their satisfaction, with performance is high and at least in the upper quartile of client satisfaction measures.
  • Lead the development of strategic plans to enhance client satisfaction and retention; ensuring that client satisfaction with performance is high and at least in the upper quartile of client satisfaction measures.
  • Develop clear and articulate value propositions that truly embrace and solve our clients' problems.
  • Be an ambassador for the business; attending and speaking at relevant industry events, developing alliances and partnerships and leveraging opportunities to build greater awareness of AtkinsRéalis.

Regional Oversight -
  • Oversee the implementation and management of projects and frameworks within the North of England, to enhance client satisfaction and retention; ensuring that client satisfaction with performance is high and at least in the upper quartile of client satisfaction measures.

Business Development -
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the region, working to expand our client base and service offerings.
  • Build a strong profile across the AtkinsRéalis, proactively identifying and developing cross selling opportunities for the wider Group and integrating our Global Technology Centre (GTC) capability.

Framework and Key Account Management (KAM)
  • Build strong Key Account teams with laser sharp focus on getting closer to clients within the city regions.
  • Work with colleagues across AtkinsRéalis to develop and deliver a strategy for each City Region that positions AtkinsRéalis as the leading, allowing us to shape the future of city regions, their solutions and approach to delivery.
  • Help develop relationships with the Client and working with practice colleagues to ensure the successful delivery of projects and associated reporting of overall performance against budget.

KAM Leadership -
  • Help to lead and help develop a one AtkinsRéalis team of professionals drawn from across the business, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.

Stakeholder Management -
  • Engage with key stakeholders, including government bodies, industry partners, and community organizations, to promote our services and frameworks.

Deliver Financial and Business Targets -
  • Monitor and report on the performance of projects and frameworks, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Deliver financial and operational performance in line with our Long Range Plan and annual Business plan and P&L targets.

Health and Safety -
  • To have a passion for health & safety and drive continuous development of our behavioural safety culture and with a track record for driving health & safety culture and performance.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience -

It is essential that you can understand and analyse the market potential and position AtkinsRéalis as a leading partner. Whilst experience and knowledge of the UK local transport market is a distinct advantage, we'd be interested to hear from those with experience in other markets. A recognised and well networked profile in the UK transport sector would be advantageous, with:
  • Significant experience in a client-facing role, preferably within the local authority or public sector.
  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • WIth Strong leadership, communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects and drive business growth.
  • A proven track record of success through the delivery of business strategy and achievement of business goals and targets, including a proven ability to drive double digit revenue growth and achieve enhanced margin.
  • Strong influencing skills negotiating skills that have led to demonstrable results.
  • Have the ability to think strategically, with a client-focused approach and a passion for delivering high-quality services.

Security clearance:
