Role Purpose
This role supports the WTA's mission by delivering technical leadership, policy assurance, and operational guidance across well interventions, completions, and drilling activities. The position is responsible for implementing and maintaining standards, facilitating risk assessments, and driving continuous improvement in alignment with bp and bpx strategic goals.

Role Purpose

The position is responsible for implementing and maintaining standards, facilitating risk assessments, and driving continuous improvement in alignment with bp and bpx strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Policy & Standards Leadership
Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for BPX Wells Policy, ensuring compliance, managing deviations, and integrating updates from regulatory and internal sources. Partner with the Management Systems team to for the development, maintenance, and auditing of Standards, SOPs, Checklists, and Best Practices across all phases of Completion Execution and Interventions activities. Map how systems integrate into HSE programs and support the Management of Change (MOC) process. - Technical Guidance & Risk Management
Advise execution teams on the application of standards and best practices. Participate in Basis of Design reviews, risk assessments, and field assessments. Identify gaps in documentation and processes, and create or update materials as needed to reflect current operations and risk levels. - Training & Knowledge Transfer
Design, deliver, and maintain training programs, including onboarding, refreshers, and assessments. Champion knowledge sharing through platforms like BP Connexus and the WC Community of Practice. Train and serve as a facilitator for failure analysis, bowtie development, and MOC processes. - Field Engagement & Continuous Improvement
Conduct field assurances to evaluate SOP adherence and gather feedback. Capture and share process improvement opportunities with leadership. Support field teams and service providers in optimizing operational standards and applying innovative technologies and methodologies. - Corrective Action & Assurance Oversight
Lead assurances of completed corrective actions to ensure effectiveness and cross-BU implementation. Provide feedback and propose solutions to Superintendents and vendors. Engage with third-party vendors on failure analysis reviews to drive actionable outcomes. - Systems Integration & Planning Support
Assist Field Superintendent teams in hazard assessment and execution planning using tools like Microsoft Visio.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Minimum 7 years of industry experience, including US onshore
- Preferred 7-10 years of industry experience, including Eagle Ford, Permian, and Haynesville basins
- Minimum 5 years engineering capacity running operations.
- Proven leadership in well interventions and completions, including workover rigs, coil tubing, and snubbing operations.
- Familiarity with Landmark or equivalent modeling software
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and operational teams.
