Analyzes, assesses, and improves asset integrity, reliability, and effectiveness of preventative and predictive maintenance based on data collected through Inspection, Testing and Maintenance program activity. Performs/participates in inspections, reliability incidents investigations, rotating equipment reliability analyses, optimizations, and mechanical integrity reviews; incorporates findings into the asset care strategy.

Manages group and employee work to align with corporate/department objectives. Direct reports are typically individual contributors.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
  • Applies broad level maintenance and reliability knowledge and expertise across the full spectrum of surface facility maintenance activities, including inspection, troubleshooting, repair and both preventative and predictive maintenance.
  • The Electric Shop Team Lead supervises Chevron employees in the safe, reliable, and cost-effective planning, scheduling, or execution of electrical maintenance scope.
  • Provides periodic performance evaluation and feedback for supervised employees. Collaborates with Operations, Reliability & Integrity, and Technical to address refinery needs.
  • Participates in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Works closely with the Planning Team Lead and the Maintenance Personnel Coordinator to optimize resources utilization.
  • Ensures all work permitting processes are followed and all applicable safeguards are in place.
  • Stewards employee adherence to rules, standards, procedures, governmental requirements, and Company policies including field audits to verify compliance. Manages the safety and specialty training requirements for assigned mechanics.
  • Works closely with turnaround maintenance group to identify what scope will be executed by chevron electrical resources during the event. Provides tool time and duration estimates to turnaround planning and scheduling.
  • Contract owner for contract electrical worker companies.
  • Partners with Electrical Engineering and Capital Projects during the various phases of electrical infrastructure work to ensure current safe operation codes, constructability, and maintainability of new/updated electrical infrastructure.
  • Reviews work requests as needed, makes initial investigations, and works with the General Maintenance Team Leaders, the Planning and Scheduling Group, Operations and the Division Asset Team on job prioritization as requested.
  • Stewards the Routine Maintenance process with team and self.
  • Applies Human and Organizational Performance principles and behaviors to create a learn and improve mindset.
  • Uses data to justify headcount increases and decreases.
  • Recognizes and celebrates success with team members.
  • Establishes and communicates clear objectives, work activities, and productivity targets for the crews .
  • Removes barriers to achieve company objective.
  • Reinforces performance expectations to enable workforce to identify and address unsafe situations (e.g., follow procedures, understand hazards, verify necessary safeguards are in place and are sufficient).
  • Encourages the reporting of incidents, near misses and potential noncompliance, and responds to feedback related to incidents in a way that encourages learning and improvement.
  • Welcomes challenges and creates an environment where open discussion can happen without hesitation.

Required Qualifications:
  • Electrical distribution experience including working knowledge of 120V, 480V, 115KV, 2.4KV systems, troubleshooting, electrical relays, breaker maintenance, motor testing, NFPA-70E, Corporate ESWP standards.
  • Understands all the crafts that support routine maintenance and how they support each other to complete scheduled and unscheduled work productively.
  • At least 2 years of leadership experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Understanding of the OEMS and OE requirements, and how OE requirements are impacted by the team's and other's work.
  • Ability to coach, influence and support union represented craft mechanics that execute work as part of reactive maintenance, preventative maintenanc e
  • Ability to connect the teams work to the business plan priorities and competitive performance targets.
  • Ability to align with the customer on priorities while balancing good discipline to work processes

  • The anticipated salary range for this position is $101,700 to $175,200. The selected candidate's compensation will be determined based on their skills, experience, and qualifications.
