About Houston

ExxonMobil's state-of-the-art campus north of Houston serves as home to its Upstream, Product Solutions and Low Carbon Solutions businesses and their associated service groups. The facility opened in 2014 and accommodates more than 10,000 employees and visitors.

What role you will play in our team

The STEM Advisor plays a key role in shaping and executing ExxonMobil's STEM Education initiatives managed by the Corporate Giving group. This position is responsible for strategic planning, project execution, and partnership management to advance the company's signature ExxonMobil or ExxonMobil Foundation STEM Education initiatives and other key focus areas. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in education or community development, with a passion for STEM and a track record of managing impactful programs.

What you will do

  • Develop strategies, budgets, and project plans for STEM Education initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals
  • Collaborate closely with the ExxonMobil Foundation team to coordinate planning and execution of STEM focus areas
  • Support the expansion of key programs such as Teen Engineering and Tech Centers and Teacher STEM Training initiative
  • Support the launch and operations of new STEM education facilities, designed to improve academic achievement, confidence, and interest in STEM careers ensuring it meets the needs of teachers and students
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with external partners and stakeholders
  • Prepare high-quality briefing materials for internal leadership and external partner engagements
  • Monitor program performance and recommend improvements based on data and stakeholder feedback

About you

Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing executive-level materials
  • Strong project management and organizational abilities
  • Effective collaborator with excellent interpersonal skills; team player
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders and shifting priorities
  • Skilled in strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making
  • Negotiation/influencing skills - Ensure that cross-functional issues are adequately considered/managed and supported with integrated program planning and communications efforts
  • Education/community relations knowledge; firm understanding of issues and opportunities facing education industry
  • Sophisticated awareness of cultural sensitivities
  • Knowledge of education systems, community relations, and grantmaking processes
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree required

Preferred Qualifications/ Experience
  • Strong proficiency in the English language; knowledge of other languages desirable, but not essential
  • 6+ years of experience in project and budget management, preferably in STEM education, youth development, or community engagement
  • Experience in STEM education initiatives, with a deep commitment to equity and access in underserved communities
