Roles and Responsibilities
- Ownership includes both quality assurance and quality control. Includes quality assurance of products, services, manufacturing processes.
- Ensures conformance in manufacturing, incoming goods control, product inspection, witness points, etc.
- Utilizes in-depth knowledge, analytical thinking, technical experience to execute policy/strategy and development/launch best practices (i.e., APQP).
- Presents to internal teams on metrics, project status, and research.
- Drives productivity and product quality improvements via process changes.
- Participates in the development, maintenance, and enhancement of production processes to ensure safe and cost-effective assembly, test, and inspection.
- Uses judgment and proposes different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles.
- Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. Explains information and develops skills (in others) to bring team members to consensus around topics within the QA field of expertise.
- Conveys performance expectations and may occasionally handle sensitive issues.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED with at least 7 years of experience in Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, and/or Industrial Engineering)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Quality Engineering
- This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Citizens. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active security clearance or the ability to obtain clearance.
- 5+ years of experience with new product introduction/launch/development.
- 3+ years of demonstrable full cycle (development-launch) APQP experience in a high-volume operation.
- 5+ years of experience leading Lean and/or Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
- Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
- Established project management skills.
