Responsibilities
- To be accountable for defining and maintaining the Project Control(Planning) integrated baseline and framework, including the establishment of Project Control policies, procedures and systems to facilitate efficient Project Execution.
- To be accountable for establishing and maintaining Project Control (Planning) standards, requirements, procedures, processes and protocols including but not limited to: Estimating, Planning & Scheduling, Cost Management, Performance and Reporting, Risk Management, Change Control, Document Control, Digital, Data Analysis, Project Control Resourcing and Delay and Disruption functions.
- To be accountable for supporting, challenging and influencing Senior Leaders to ensure 'best for KBR and Client' decisions and to be accountable for holding the Supply Chain, development and delivery areas to account, working with leaders across KBR and Clients to highlight trends and performance insights.
- To be accountable for providing strategic leadership and insight on interdependencies, trends and performance, along with Subject Matter Expert (SME) advice to Senior Leaders in managing the successful delivery of KBR Programme and Projects. Leads the development and implementation of Project Control strategies aligned with organizational objectives, ensuring effective Project Management practices are established and followed throughout the Project Lifecycle.
- To be accountable for the innovative quality, timeliness and consistency of Project Controls work produced by the Project Controls Team.
- To be accountable for leading and coordinating Project Controls activities within the Supply Chain, development and delivery areas to assure the accuracy and quality of information being captured across all functional, Programme and Project disciplines.
- To be accountable for providing strategic analysis of the data and reports submitted and provide insights, trends on performance and risks to support decision making and to provide periodic project performance updates to key Senior Stakeholders, with key strategic insights and trends to support development and delivery trade off decisions.
- Team Leadership: Provide leadership, guidance, and mentoring to the Project Controls Team. Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment, promoting continuous learning and professional development.
- Governance and Quality Assurance: Establish and enforce governance and quality control measures to ensure adherence to Programme specifications, industry standards and regulatory requirements. Implement robust assurance processes to identify and resolve quality issues promptly.
- Digital Delivery: Integrating with the Information Management & Technology Leads, and Project Controls Leads, establish Programme and Project wide Digital Strategy and identify, establish, implement and manage software, tools, controls systems, workflows, processes and tools
- Resource Management: Coordinate with Functional Teams to ensure appropriate identification, onboarding and allocation of resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to support Project Execution. Optimize resource utilization to maximize efficiency and productivity. Manage resource performance and attrition.
- Performance, Reporting and Communication: Oversee the preparation and presentation of Project status reports, including progress updates, financial analysis, and risk assessments to senior management and stakeholders. Foster effective communication channels between Project Teams, Stakeholders, and Executive Management. To be accountable for leading the co-ordination and communication of the Period reporting cycle ensuring compliance with the reporting lifecycle and undertaking self-assessment of procedural compliance and sharing lessons, and best practice within the Project Controls community.
- Estimating: Deliver and manage the Estimating Framework, Systems, Procedures and Resources to deliver an effective and exemplar Estimating Service to Programmes and Projects, Project Managers, Programme Managers and Sponsors. Lead the provision of quality Estimates for all Project phases and stages within all business areas. Determine the quality and maturity of Estimate information provided for the compilation of Estimates and then suitability and classification of Estimates to be prepared.
- Planning and Schedule Management: Oversee the development, maintenance, and monitoring of Project schedules, ensuring timely completion of Project milestones. Co-ordinate with Project Teams to identify potential schedule risks and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Budget and Cost Control: Oversee the development and management of Project budgets (internal and external), ensuring accurate cost estimation, cost control measures and cost forecasting throughout the Project duration. Monitor project expenses and contingencies and analyse variances, providing recommendations for corrective and mitigating actions.
- Risk Management: Oversee the identification, assessment, and management of Project risks, opportunities and uncertainties. Ensure that risk mitigation and opportunity plans and risk workshops are effectively developed and managed and that risks and opportunities are adequately identified. Ensure that risk and opportunity responses are appropriate.
- Change Control: Oversee the development and implementation of Change Control processes to manage Programme and Project scope changes, ensuring that Change Requests are properly evaluated, approved, managed and integrated into Project plans. Monitor Change implementation to minimize scope creep and mitigate associated risks.
- Document Control: Lead and functionally manage all Document Control resources and processes within Programme and Projects. Support Document Control and Management resourcing and technical delivery through all phases, from definition through development and to close. Management of the KBR Document Control technical and resource functional team. Responsibility for establishing, developing and maintaining the program Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) and associated processes.
- Actively promote and embed Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) and support and comply with all organisational initiatives, policies and procedures on EDI.
Experience Requirements
- A minimum of 20 years of industry and Project Controls (Planning) experience.
- Proven, extensive and demonstrable experience in Project Controls/Planning management within the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) industry, with a track record of successfully delivering complex and high value Programmes, Mega Projects and Projects.
- International project delivery experience managing and working with diverse Teams and people.
Technical Skills / Knowledge
- A demonstrable ability to implement, manage and control best-in-class solutions, processes and delivery across: Estimating, Planning & Scheduling, Cost Management, Performance and Reporting, Risk Management, Change Control, Document Control, Digital, Data Analysis, Project Control Resourcing and Delay and Disruption functions.
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Programme management innovation, principles, practices, and methodologies.
- Proficiency in Project Control and Project Management tools and software, including but not limited to: Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Data Analysis and Reporting systems, (including Power BI), Risk Management tools (facilitating and analysing), Cost Management systems, Estimating systems, Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate and mitigate Project risks and capitalise on Project opportunities.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity and ability to manage multiple projects and large Teams simultaneously.
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant industry standards, regulations and best practice.
