Develops and executes a strategy for growth in the North American nuclear power market and adjacent front/back-end support markets to achieve key business objectives; develops, maintains, and advances client relationships through sales strategies and client contracts. The range of market opportunities includes gigawatt scale, Generation 3+ and Generation 4 configurations along with the range of secondary opportunities.
CORE DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accountable for the development and delivery of sales/business plans within sector/geography but sells all of Amentum capabilities to clients, not solely services residing within a single business line.
- Partners with other Business Units (as appropriate) and related Business Lines to deliver our growth targets.
- Directs and conducts the research and analysis of business opportunities within an identified target market to ensure a continuous pipeline of sales opportunities.
- Assesses competition and potential markets by analyzing growth strategies.
- Serves as Sales and Growth Lead with responsibility for proposal strategy, preparation, submittal, and/or implementation upon award for specific pursuits.
- Ensures consistent application of the company's sales process, including by not limited to, compliance of corporate policies and processes and maintenance of data within CRM.
- Develops and approves value propositions that enhance Amentum's competitive position and achieve client objectives.
- Contributes to the development of functional, regional, or global business development strategies.
- Recommends adaptations of company's business models to fit new and emerging markets.
- Develops the organization's AOP, and out-year forecast.
- Manages a component of the Business Line Profit and Loss and as such are responsible for revenue, earnings, DSO and overhead goals.
- Assists in evaluating key personnel for contract/task bids/proposals, establishing and fostering relationships with new and existing clients.
- Recommend strategic hires, mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures when appropriate in support of business development strategies.
- Provides leadership for other Business Development Directors and works in a peer-to-peer relationship with the Business Development Directors who led the multi-disciplinary proposal teams.
REQUIREMENTS
- Education and Experience: Undergraduate Degree with 15 plus years of directly related experience; additional education and certifications may be substituted for experience. Advanced degree preferred.
- Technical: Commercial, naval, or research reactor operations experience and/or enrichment, fuel fabrication and inspection and/or back-end fuels/waste management. Demonstrated success in developing new business and expanding market share to positively grow revenue and earnings. Demonstrated leadership skills as evidenced by prior supervisory experience.
- Language: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (and other languages, as applicable).
- Other: Work may be required after hours and on weekends, and sometimes on short notice. Must be willing and able to travel.
