Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for providing a wide variety of technical support related to management, operation, and maintenance of production equipment. The Maintenance Technician gathers and reports production data, and identifies optimization opportunities through analysis of specific well performance or system trends. This person mentors and provides technical support to other levels of Specialists, Technicians, and Operators as assigned. Comprehends, practices and promotes awareness and compliance with IPM's QHSE policies and procedures. Continues to practice and promote achievement of levels of performance and produced product quality that are consistent with the objectives for quality established in IPM's policies and procedures or Client specifications. Continues training with mandatory and elective web-based modules (API). Strong focus on on-the-job training documented with logbooks. IPM Field Career Training modules and/or OJT. Industry schools (e.g. OGCI ,Surface Production Operations). Schlumberger SQM and Hazwoper and any training necessary to maintain required regulatory certification. Reviews and analyzes data pertaining to operating, maintenance, production and other technical problems and helps develop and implement recommendations for solutions. e.g. mechanical failures, injection rates, etc. Helps develop equipment maintenance procedures and spare parts lists for surface process equipment. May function as a control room operator or supervisor - plans or directs most aspects of production operations. Reviews existing installations and facilities to gather data in support of business development or GeoMarket requests. e.g. for production optimization strategies, such as de-bottle necking, artificial lift optimization, etc. Performs other duties and tasks designated by supervisor to which he/she is assigned in a professional manner. After appropriate training can supervise third party well service personnel. e.g. supervision of rod or tubing pulls, equipment repair, etc. May functionally direct all PS personnel assigned to project depending on size. Expenditure Authority - Designated by project - typically $1000 (typical). Budgetary Control - Designated by project. Submits progress reports, schedules and budgets for assigned projects. Develops and submit other reports as directed by assigned supervisors. High school degree as well as advanced knowledge of Maintenance services within the oil & gas industry. Local candidates preferred. Prior knowledge of SLB Membrane technology preferred.
