About the role:

WEG Electric Corp is hiring a Tendering Manager, Power Systems role. The position is responsible for tendering activities for WEG's synchronous condenser systems, and other nominated scopes ranging from engineered equipment packages to turnkey systems, in the United States and Canada.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for proposal development in WEG's Power Systems business area, presently focused on synchronous condenser systems and with an expanding focus as defined by management, via effective engagement with customers, internal business areas and external partners
  • Champion and proactively support capture of the opportunities in the business pipeline, actively seek opportunities to include in the pipeline
  • Develop and refine templates to facilitate and effectively manage the tender process, and maintain records according to company guidance for all opportunities
  • Drive collaboration within the company to tailor equipment and solutions offerings to differentiate the company
  • Support sales and business development efforts when beneficial (attending customer meetings, trade shows, project meetings, etc.)
  • Develop and maintain a high-level of familiarity with competitor offerings and go-to-market strategies
  • Qualify and develop suppliers and partners for auxiliary equipment and services where desirable and beneficial to the company
  • Manage the RFQ process with internal and external suppliers in a timely way to support project capture
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with the company's sales and sales support structure
  • Organize and manage effective meetings: sales presentations; opportunity kick-off meetings; design review meetings; and project kick-off meetings (internal and external) for smooth project handovers to project execution personnel
  • Engage proactively as-needed during and after project execution: provide guidance to involved team members, assist in the resolution of technical and commercial matters, and support great project outcomes and great project references.

  • Other duties and tasks as assigned
  • 20% - 50% travel

Education: (minimum education or equivalent in relevant experience)

Bachelor's degree

Field of Study if required: Engineering and/or business degree preferred or equivalent work experience.

Knowledge / training:
  • Strong engineered sales, project capture, and contract negotiation experience in relevant areas
  • Experience with synchronous condenser systems and EPC / turnkey project scopes is favorable.
  • Effective relationship development and management with internal and external stakeholders
  • Timely and well-organized communicator
  • Effective self-management
  • Actionable familiarity with North American electric power markets, with a deep understanding of relevant industry trends, market dynamics, and clients

Experience:
  • 5 years of related experience.
