Responsibilities
You shall lead and manage a team of purchasers in a matrixed organization to execute the purchasing according to the Vestas process, fulfill current performance targets, develop effective supplier relationships, and ensure that Vestas' future business needs will be satisfied.
- Talent building and development: Ensure the team is equipped with the needed skills in their current roles, and develop employee talent to prepare them for future roles based on the career path identified
- Performance management: Assess and improve the performance of the team by regularly reviewing the objectives and working with the employee to sustain achievement or mitigate performance gaps
- Provide guidance to the purchasers in the different sourcing activities, and such guidance must be in line with the relevant commodity strategy and Vestas procurement process
- Work across different functions within Procurement and within Vestas to support the team in the implementation of the category/regional procurement strategies
- Business continuity: Establish contingency plans to ensure the continuity of purchasing operations and required global or regional coverage
- Implement continuous improvement programs to eliminate wastes in the process and automate or optimize repetitive activities
- On an ad-hoc basis, conduct sourcing activities with agreed vendors and negotiate to reach the best possible outcome for Vestas
Qualifications
- Engineering graduate or relevant business degree
- With at least 10 years of experience in Supply Chain and Procurement functions
- With at least 4 years of experience in leadership and people development
- Experience with defining and executing sourcing strategies
- Experience in SAP or Ariba procure-to-pay process
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Proficient English written and verbal communication skills, and able to speak with conviction
- Highly self-motivated, focused work ethic, keen attention to detail, and notable customer service orientation
- Adept in stakeholder management and with effective communication skills at all levels
