No experience / No degreeWe are seeking an experienced and senior Project Controls Manager to join a high-performing team on a major energy construction project near Edmonton, Alberta. This senior role plays a pivotal part in driving the successful delivery of large-scale infrastructure by overseeing project controls and ensuring alignment across planning, cost, and execution functions.
This is a field-based position requiring effectively driven leadership, a clear understanding of project control frameworks, and the ability to communicate efficiently across all levels of the organization, from field teams to executive stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation of project controls best practices, procedures, and work instructions across all phases of execution.
- Oversee and guide a multidisciplinary project controls team, promoting collaboration, efficiency, and accuracy.
- Develop and maintain critical path schedules, ensuring alignment with construction and commissioning milestones.
- Monitor and manage project budgets and expenditures to meet financial targets.
- Provide clear, timely reporting to both project leadership and corporate stakeholders—upward, downward, and across functions.
- Identify cost and schedule risks early, proposing proactive mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with internal standards and external regulatory requirements.
- Support project leadership in performance optimization, issue resolution, and decision-making.
- Foster team development through mentoring and day-to-day leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 10–20 years of progressive experience in project controls, ideally in large-scale Oil & Gas, petrochemical, or energy infrastructure projects.
- Proven track record leading project controls teams on mega projects ($500M ).
- Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6, cost control tools, and project reporting systems.
- Confident in navigating complex team dynamics and communicating clearly across stakeholders, contractors, and client representatives.
- Deep understanding of project lifecycle from pre-FEED through to commissioning.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to thrive in a field-based, fast-paced construction environment.
- Comfortable working 40–50 hour work weeks with occasional overtime.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to commute to site daily.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
