JOB DESCRIPTION
John Wood Group PLC ('Wood' or 'the Company') and its joint venture (JV) partner, Tendrill International Sdn. Bhd, has secured a five-year contract with Brunei Shell Petroleum Sdn Bhd (BSP) for brownfield engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services.
Under the contract, the TendrillWood JV will deliver integrated, end-to-end brownfield EPC projects, from conceptual design through commissioning and start-up, across BSP offshore and onshore assets.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Engineering Manager is responsible for executing the engineering components of multi-discipline projects, ensuring adherence to HSSE (Health, Safety, Security, and Environment), quality, schedule, and budget goals. This role emphasizes technical excellence across all engineering disciplines and involves coordinating various engineering and start-up activities.

Key Responsibilities
Internal and External Communication
- Establish effective working relationships across business interfaces.
- Engage with functional communities for knowledge sharing.
- Communicate with external stakeholders, including industry bodies and clients.
Process Ownership
- Develop and implement engineering policies and procedures.
- Align strategies with organizational objectives and regulatory frameworks.
- Serve as a conduit for industry developments and legislative changes.
Stakeholder Management
- Oversee engineering content in project execution plans.
- Direct and manage engineering activities efficiently.
- Consult with clients to prepare specifications and present findings.
- Resolve complex technical issues and facilitate agreements among conflicting parties.
Team Leadership
- Plan, organize, and evaluate the activities of a multidiscipline engineering team.
- Manage recruitment, performance, and succession planning to ensure a competent workforce.
- Maintain standards for team development and retention.
Technical Assurance
- Drive technical assurance for assigned scopes of work.
- Promote corporate and client-specific procedures.
- Monitor compliance with standards to ensure delivery.
- Assist in incident investigations and implement learning opportunities.
- Focus on process safety and eliminate technical incidents through robust controls.

Education:
- Minimum: Bachelor's degree (ISCED Level 6) in engineering.
- Preferred: Master's degree (ISCED Level 7) in engineering.
- Professional certification as a Chartered Engineer or Registered Professional Engineer.
