AMSG is seeking a Sr Nuclear Security Analyst, International Programs to support an opportunity we are pursuing with the Department of Energy (DOE), National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), providing Liaison, Technical, Program, and Strategic Communications support for the Office of the Deputy Administrator for Defense Programs. This is a Contingent Hire Position

Education: Master's degree in International Relations or related field.

Background: The Office of the Deputy Administrator for Defense Programs' (NA-10) mission is to sustain a safe, secure, and effective nuclear deterrent through the application of science, technology, engineering, and manufacturing. The mission of this office is to direct the safe, secure, and effective operation and function of Defense Programs within the National Nuclear Security Administration and the Department of Energy. The Office of Defense Programs has the primary responsibility of partnering with the Department of Defense to provide a safe, secure, and effective stockpile for the Nation's nuclear deterrent. To carry out this mission, this office has responsibility for the policies, processes, and procedures for assuring effective integration of activities and implementation of programs across the weapons complex and with other programs and staff offices in the NNSA, including the Office of the NNSA Administrator.

Required:
  • Experience with the Department of Defense (DoD)/Department of Energy (DOE) participation under the Atomic Energy Act of 1954 and the 1958 United States (U.S.)/United Kingdom (UK) Mutual Defense Agreement is strongly desired.
  • Experience in handling and protecting classified information up to Secret (NATO, Restricted/Formerly Restricted Data, and foreign government information also desirable).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to coordinate and integrate different customer requirements.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing policy and procedural requirements.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with senior international and interagency counterparts, ensuring communication of current strategic goals in the context of nuclear policy.
  • Prepare and deliver briefings, memos, talking points, white papers, and/or other documentation to NNSA leadership.
  • Serve as a lead action officer for U.S-UK Mutual Defense Agreement (MDA) activities; run meetings, provide guidance, communicate strategic priorities.
  • Provide regular program updates to NNSA International Programs Director, including recommendations regarding high-level international exchanges in support of national strategic interests.
  • Coordinate with senior international and interagency counterparts, ensuring communication of current strategic goals in the context of nuclear policy.
  • Serve as technical expert on export control applications and issues.
  • Prepare and deliver briefings, memos, talking points, white papers, and/or other documentation to NNSA leadership.
  • Ensure that NNSA and DOE personnel are properly trained on how to work under U.S. MDAs, adhering to statutory and programmatic policies and procedures.
  • Provide derivative classification authority.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the International Programs Director.
