As a Data Engineer in the People Analytics team, you will support the design, development, and maintenance of Power BI dashboards and data pipelines that deliver actionable insights. You will work with stakeholders across HR and the business to transform data into meaningful and scalable analytics solutions.

As a Data Engineer in the People Analytics team, you will support the design, development, and maintenance of Power BI dashboards and data pipelines that deliver actionable insights. You will work with stakeholders across HR and the business to transform data into meaningful and scalable analytics solutions.
Your r esponsibilities
- Lead cross-functional global initiatives by developing data-driven products that solve complex business problems using tools like Python, Snowflake, Power BI (Power Query), Advanced Excel, and other emerging technologies; work closely with product owners and architects to build cloud-based data solutions.
- Design and manage end-to-end Power BI dashboards, including data modeling, advanced DAX, and user-focused visualizations; ensure data quality, consistency, and actionable insights for stakeholders while documenting data flows and reporting logic.
- Develop and optimize SQL queries and support the creation and automation of ETL pipelines feeding analytics and reporting solutions, leveraging cloud platforms such as Snowflake, Azure, or AWS.
- Apply Agile and DevOps practices, use version control tools (e.g., Git), and scripting languages like Python to deliver scalable, maintainable, and transparent data solutions in a continuous improvement environment.
- Engage independently or collaboratively with global ABB leadership to identify business needs, deliver impactful insights, and lead small to mid-size projects; act as a proactive team player with strong collaboration skills, motivation, and a passion for learning.
Your background
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Applied Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Operations Research, or a related field; knowledge of Workday HCM or Snowflake is a plus; fluency in English is required.
- 3-4 years of experience in consulting, shared services, or software development, with strong data analysis skills using tools such as Snowflake (or other cloud platforms), Power BI, Python, SQL, and Excel (including Power Query or VBA).
- Strong quantitative and analytical mindset, with a "can-do" attitude and the ability to work with large datasets to extract actionable insights that support valuable business decisions.
- Proven experience designing and maintaining dashboards and reports using Power BI, Qlik, Tableau, and Excel with VBA, delivering diagnostic and forecasting insights.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies, with hands-on experience working in Agile-based delivery environments.
- Excellent problem-solving and storytelling skills, capable of building clear narratives from fragmented data and presenting findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
