Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and adaptable Human Resources Business Partner / Generalist to provide hands-on HR support and strategic partnership across our U.S. operations. This role is based in Houston with a hybrid schedule and will work closely with leadership and recruiting consultants to drive employee engagement, ensure legal compliance, and contribute to a high-performance, inclusive culture. You'll serve as a trusted HR advisor and operational expert across core areas including employee relations, performance management, talent development, compensation, policy interpretation, onboarding, and engagement. You'll also collaborate with global HR teams on broader initiatives and change management efforts. Key Responsibilities HR Strategy & Business Partnership Partner with senior leaders to develop people strategies aligned with business goals. Support retention, workforce planning, and employee satisfaction through data analysis, trend reporting, and action planning. Participate in leadership and sales meetings to align HR strategies with operational needs and culture. Employee Relations & Culture Provide coaching and guidance on employee relations matters including conflict resolution, investigations, disciplinary actions, and performance improvement plans. Interpret and implement HR policies and procedures; recommend improvements or updates as needed. Foster a high-performance, inclusive, and values-driven workplace culture. Talent Development & Employee Engagement Support onboarding, training, and development plans for new and existing employees. Facilitate performance review cycles and contribute to employee growth initiatives (e.g. mentoring, learning, and development programs). Contribute to engagement and culture initiatives, including surveys, recognition programs, and wellness efforts. HR Operations & Compliance Ensure HR practices are compliant with federal, state, and local employment laws (e.g. FMLA, ADA, EEO). Maintain accurate HRIS and personnel records; ensure data accuracy, confidentiality, and integrity. Assist with immigration, work authorization, and policy administration. Compensation, Benefits & Payroll Support Support compensation programs including benchmarking, job descriptions, and analysis. Liaise with payroll and benefits providers to ensure accurate processing and communication of changes. Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience in an HR Generalist, HRBP, or similar role. Strong understanding of U.S. employment law and HR compliance. Demonstrated experience advising managers and employees at all levels. High emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills; able to build trust and influence. Strong organizational and analytical skills; detail-oriented and solution-focused. Adaptable, proactive, and able to work independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment Technologically savvy, proficient in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite. Preferred Qualifications Experience in 3rd party staffing, or sales-driven environments. Exposure to compensation, benefits, and performance management strategies. PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification preferred. Experience supporting early-career workforces and development programs. Why Join Spencer Ogden?
