Utility Technician II - Choke Canyon

This position is located and will report to the Choke Canyon Reservoir in Three Rivers, Texas
Overview
The Utility Technician II will operate and maintain the Choke Canyon Dam and attached facilities, heavy maintenance and mowing, equipment operation, repair and maintenance of trucks, tractors, mowers, pumps, as well as boats and facilities. This position will report to Choke Canyon Reservoir in Three Rivers, Texas.
Responsibilities
• Performs maintenance and repairs to Choke Canyon equipment and vehicles
• Operate city equipment proficiently
• Assists in identifying maintenance requirements, develops preventative maintenance strategies and plans and performs root cause analysis of equipment failures; makes recommendations on findings
• Works with coworkers and subordinates to complete duties
• Operates mowing and construction equipment to maintain facilities and grounds
• Operates a work boat, inspects dam, buoys, and makes water side repairs
• Fills out morning reports and other required documentation, computer operation documenting work
• Ability to work out mathematical problems and communicate effectively
• Ability to figure evaporation, stream flows, acre feet of lake, conversions from Cubic feet per second to acre feet per week: Piezometer readings calculations, with conversions from meters to feet elevation and more
• Take information from Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and perform job and report both by CMMS
• May be asked to perform other duties as assigned
Position Type and Typical Hours of Work
• Non - Exempt - Full-Time
• Rotating 40-hour work week; must be available to work additional hours as needed
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is a schedule requirement

Minimum Qualifications
• High School Diploma/ GED
• One (1) year of experience
Licenses and Certifications
Required
• A valid Class A Commercial Driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire
Required within one (1) month of hire
• Confined Space Training
Required within six (6) months of hire
• TCEQ Dam Safety Certification
• Boat Safety Training Certification

Basis of Rating
