If you are a PCB design professional looking for an opportunity to grow and collaborate in a team environment, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Shakopee, MN location, you will be responsible for printed circuit board (PCB) designs from concept to manufacturing. You will work closely with electrical, mechanical and supply chain engineers to ensure the design requirements are met.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Schematic capture, component placement, routing, Gerber / ODB++ file creation, and documentation creation using Cadence Allegro toolset.
  • Design multi-layer mixed signal circuit boards and flex circuit assemblies while collaborating with team members to meet the product quality, safety and cost requirements.
  • Develop and implement changes to engineering drawings and documentation
  • Work with ECAD systems team to create electrical components for the in-house library, integrate best practices into development processes and find ways to utilize the full potential of the CAD software.
  • Support development of PCB layout standards, best practices, and guidelines in accordance with industry standards and internal requirements.
  • Work with contract manufacturers of PCBs and assembly houses to ensure the successful fabrication of each design.
  • Support PCB(A) DFM/DFA activities in collaboration with Electrical, Mechanical and Manufacturing engineering.
  • Support PCB layout design reviews (Electrical, EMC, Manufacturing, etc)
  • Support legacy production projects as needed

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Technical education or equivalent
  • 4 years of related experience using electrical CAD software
  • Basic understanding of analog/digital circuit theory and EMC/EMI in electronics
  • Basic understanding of design for manufacturability, design for assembly and design for testability.
  • Legal Authorization to work in the United States

  • Experience with Cadence
  • Experience with Engineering Change Order process
  • Ability to effectively multi-task
  • Ability to work independently
  • Knowledge of PCB manufacturing and assembly processes
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience with I.S. designs
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel)

Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during our annual merit review process. The salary range for this role is $72,000-82,000 annually, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to a role.
