Pre-installation plays a crucial role in ensuring the effective completion of offshore construction projects in the Asia Pacific region. Its main responsibility is to complete as much work on the wind turbine components as possible before they are sent offshore. The Pre-installation team manages the handling of wind turbine generator (WTG) components from the moment they are delivered to the site until they are made available to the Installation team at the quayside. The team plans and executes on-site activities, ensuring that projects are carried out safely, on time, and to the required quality standards, all while adhering to the Pre-installation budget.

Responsibilities

As a Pre-installation Project Manager, you will ensure that the Pre-installation projects are progressing according to time, budget and to the required safety and quality standards and at the same time, you will oversee optimisation processes, where possible. It is the responsibility of the Pre-installation Project Manager to utilise the resources in an efficient manner and maintain a co-operative, motivated, and effective team.

Your tasks will include:
  1. Develop and maintain the project management plan for the pre-installation scope.
  2. Coordinate cross-functional activities to ensure alignment with overall project goals.
  3. Manage change requests and ensure controlled implementation.
  4. Define and control the scope of work for pre-installation activities.
  5. Ensure all deliverables are clearly documented and aligned with project requirements.
  6. Prevent scope creep through effective change control processes.
  7. Contribute to the development of detailed schedules for pre-installation activities.
  8. Monitor progress and adjust plans to meet key milestones.
  9. Coordinate with logistics, engineering, and offshore teams to ensure schedule alignment.
  10. Monitoring and managing budgets for the pre-installation scope.
  11. Track expenditures and forecast costs to ensure delivery within budget.
  12. Identify and mitigate cost risks.
  13. Ensure all pre-installation work meets defined quality standards.
  14. Implement quality assurance and control processes.
  15. Advocate for continuous improvement initiatives.
  16. Identify resource needs and coordinate allocation of personnel and equipment.
  17. Lead and motivate cross-functional teams.
  18. Support team development and performance.
  19. Maintain clear and consistent communication with stakeholders.
  20. Provide regular updates on progress, risks, and issues.
  21. Facilitate effective collaboration across departments and with external partners.
  22. Identify, assess, and manage risks related to pre-installation activities.
  23. Develop mitigation plans and monitor risk triggers.
  24. Ensure contingency plans are in place.
  25. Support procurement of services and materials for pre-installation.
  26. Manage vendor relationships and performance.
  27. Ensure timely delivery of critical components.
  28. Engage with internal and external stakeholders to align expectations.
  29. Address concerns promptly and maintain strong working relationships.
  30. Ensure stakeholder satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.


Qualifications
  1. We expect you to have a relevant educational background combined with Project Management experience from the offshore industry.
  2. Furthermore, we expect that you have a good technical product understanding and awareness together with good process knowledge.
  3. Project Management Professional (PMP(R)) certification or equivalent.
  4. Extensive project management experience in offshore wind or large-scale infrastructure projects, with the ability to navigate complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
  5. Comprehensive understanding of project lifecycle management. Familiarity with contract management, procurement processes, and logistics coordination

  9. Engage effectively in teamwork and possess the skills to make well-reasoned decisions while managing the delegation of tasks;
  10. A solution-oriented and an effective problem solver with the ability to act methodologically and determined during periods of high activity.
  11. Skilled in aligning cross-functional teams and managing change effectively.
