The Construction Proposal Manager (CPM) is responsible and accountable for the Project Management and Construction aspects during bidding and Turbine Supply Agreement negotiation. The CPM primarily leads the interface between Sales and Construction (including Project Management) which involve a variety of stakeholders from subject matter experts (SMEs) to senior management. The CPM is also responsible for tailoring project specific solutions which meet both customer and Vestas' requirements.

The CPM is ultimately responsible for ensuring that the project is delivered within the terms of scope, budget and programme, ensuring a balance between optimizing the customer project business case and securing an appropriate risk level for Vestas. All of this whilst never compromising on HSE and Quality compliance. In addition, the CPM is additionally responsible for ensuring the PM / Construction elements of the FIDIC based TSA contracts including schedules are appropriately drafted alongside legal colleagues.

Responsibilities

Stakeholder management:
  • Acting as a single-point-of-contact in Construction towards Sales
  • Continuously managing stakeholders across the value chain

Customer engagement:
  • Facilitating the construction package towards customers through meetings, workshops and Supporting Vestas Technical Due Diligence (TDD) process.
  • Clearly understanding and questioning what drives the customers project business case
  • Clearly defining, communicating, and selling the optimal solution and scope split.

Bid execution:
  • Developing realistic and value adding solutions based on tender review and customer engagement
  • Managing bid deliverables internally by kicking off and securing deadlines are met for programme, budget etc.
  • Presenting proposals and obtaining the necessary mandates & approvals with senior management and gate processes
  • Preparing proposal wording, contract schedules, supporting documentation and reservations in collaboration with Sales.

Negotiation:
  • Negotiating construction package including relevant contract schedules and annexes
  • Supporting sales in negotiating topics that are linked to construction scope
  • Ensuring risk and contract terms are consistent between customer contract and sub-contracts specifically for key scope items Port and Installation Vessel provision when relevant.

Risk / Opportunity management:
  • Managing construction risks / opportunities diligently from first offer through negotiation and handover to execution
  • Ensuring that Vestas governance (MRP) deviations for construction scope are assessed and mitigated.

Continuous improvement:
  • Continuously updating contract schedules and annexes for the Construction package
  • Managing project specific implementation of new products and solutions
  • Implementing lessons learned from previous projects
  • Supporting business improvement initiatives to ensure competitive & value adding solutions
  • Supporting continuous development of internal processes


Qualifications
  • Work experience in an international environment demonstrating over 3 years of relevant experience. Project management or technical management of large-scale projects in energy, oil & gas, infrastructure or equal. Alternatively in similar technical (electrical or mechanical) fields.
  • +2 years of leadership experience.
  • And/or
  • Diploma/degree in Engineering / Business / relevant analytical-related major.

  • Comfortable in managing large commercial risks and >100m EUR budgets

  • Fluent in English
