Primary Responsibilities

• Perform in-depth power system studies for energy infrastructure projects, working in partnership with developers, investors, Network Service Providers (NSPs), and the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO).
• Deliver creative technical solutions to grid connection challenges, including weak grid conditions and network congestion.
• Oversee projects through all stages—from application to registration, energisation, and commissioning—ensuring alignment with NSP and AEMO requirements.
• Provide expert advice on upgrades or equipment replacement for operational synchronous generation assets.
• Ensure high-quality project execution in line with company standards, industry regulations, and legal obligations.
• Identify opportunities for ongoing project work and contribute to the company’s growth pipeline.
• Foster internal collaboration, engage in knowledge-sharing, and benefit from mentoring opportunities.
• Cultivate and maintain strong external relationships to aid in business development and client retention.

About You

You will be a strong candidate for this position if you possess:

• A bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated project delivery experience, including adherence to technical standards, timeframes, and effective stakeholder engagement.
• Excellent organisational abilities, adaptability, and a practical, results-focused mindset.
• Hands-on experience with power systems modelling tools such as PSS/E, PowerFactory, or PSCAD. Utility experience or previous consultancy background is highly desirable.
• Strong communication skills—both written and verbal—with the capability to meet key performance indicators and prepare detailed reports.
• Solid data management skills, including the use of spreadsheets and technical documentation.
• A collaborative attitude and advanced problem-solving capabilities.
