The Lead Supplier Quality Engineer - Sourcing drives quality for assigned suppliers, including quality plan implementation, and selecting suppliers through the qualification processes. This person will own supplier results and audits, and drive improvements utilizing supplier scorecards to ensure compliance. This role requires an in-depth understanding of key business drivers and how the work of their team integrates with other teams and contributes to the business.

Our Vandalia facility is located 50 minutes north of the GE Aerospace headquarters and sits just north of the city of Dayton-known widely as the birthplace of aviation-where the Wright Brothers built the world's first aircraft in their bicycle shop in the heart of downtown Dayton. This business boasts a rich history, in operation for over 100 years. At over 140,000 square feet, the Vandalia facility rests on 27 acres right off Interstate 75.

At GE Aerospace in Vandalia, we specialize in manufacturing and servicing world-class power generation and electrical control and distribution equipment for a variety of aerospace customers. Vandalia is also home to a product development lab where operators and engineers work together to invent the future of flight.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Includes both Supplier Quality Assurance and Supplier Quality Development.
  • Includes supplier qualifications, action plans, audits, performance monitoring, and assisting key suppliers towards industrial standards of excellence.
  • SQEs have various levels of differentiation which are related to level of technical understanding of engineering drawings and ability to manage vendors.
  • Utilizes technical expertise and judgement to solve problems.
  • Leverages technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems.
  • May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 7 years of experience in Supply Chain, Quality, and/or Manufacturing)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Supply Chain, Quality, and/or Manufacturing, or completion from a GE Aerospace Leadership program


Additional Information
  • This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Citizens. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.
  • Ability for 25% travel based on business needs (supplier visits, domestic)
