Reports to: Executive Director of Facilities and Construction
Job responsibilities (to include but not limited to): Custodial Coordinator/Energy Manager combines the responsibilities of overseeing custodial services and implementing energy conservation initiatives. This position is also responsible for overseeing pest control for the district.

• Oversee and manage all aspects of outsourced custodial services within the school district to ensure a clean, safe, and healthy learning environment for students and staff. Acts as the primary liaison between the district and the contracted cleaning company, guaranteeing compliance with service agreements, quality standards, and safety regulations.

• Monitor and close work orders for cleaning / custodial issues, pest control, and environmental issues district wide.
• Serve as the primary contact for district administrators regarding custodial services. The coordinator may respond to custodial issues with staff and collaborate to address cleaning issues and implement solutions. Represent the department with stakeholders.

• Assist in the development and management of budgets related to custodial operations, pest control, and energy consumption, and monitor annual budgets in these areas.
• Supervise district custodial evaluation team and evaluation software (custodial dashboard). Provide feedback to outsourced custodial provider related to performance. Evaluate data (monthly) and make recommendations related to custodial bonus program.
• Work with various stakeholders including principals, maintenance staff, and other district personnel.
• Ensure compliance with relevant safety and environmental regulations.
• Provide regular reports on custodial operations, energy consumption, and related issues.

• Communicate energy management guidelines and strategies to school personnel.
• Track energy consumption data, identifying areas for improvement, and reporting on energy performance.
• Act as district representative with utilities providers. Responsibilities include but not limited to communication with providers during service interruptions, establishment of new services / changes.
• Manage district's energy management system software to ensure systems are working properly.
• Work with maintenance staff to ensure proper functioning and programming of computerized energy management systems.
• Establish and implement a setback program for all district facilities.
• Work cooperatively with school leadership to schedule HVAC for events.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Experience in / knowledge of custodial practices and operations, building systems, energy management principles preferred.
• Knowledge of safety standards and cleaning practices for educational facilities preferred.
• Familiarity with energy management software (HVAC controls).
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to supervise and train staff.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to multiple school sites.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• Ability to walk or stand for extended periods.
• Dexterity of hands and fingers for equipment operation.
• Ability to regularly lift, move, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
• Work is typically performed in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments, with potential exposure to various weather conditions and cleaning chemicals.

Salary Range:

• $ 57,121 to $ 80,255 (dependent on qualifying experience)
