Your responsibilities:
The tasks of the student will include:
- Build simulation models of highly complex mechanical systems using Multibody Dynamics and Finite Element simulation tools.
- Create models of different complexity (from analytical to full 3D FEM simulations) for real-world actuation systems, considering their transient behavior and control.
- Design and test new prototypes in our lab. Set up advanced test rigs with the cooperation of the prototyping team, define the testing concept, and evaluate/interpret measurement results.
- Apply your own ideas to optimize actual hardware solutions and/or simulation processes used in the design.
- Collaborate with our team members and learn about new technological trends and future control and protection devices.
- Document and present scientific results in a professional environment at ABB.
Your background:
- You are studying for a master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a similar field.
- You have good knowledge and experience in one or more of the following fields: Applied Mechanics, Mechatronics, Multibody Dynamics Simulation, Finite Element Analysis and Design, Prototyping and Testing of Mechatronic/Mechanical Systems.
- You are experienced in at least one of the following software packages: ANSYS, Adams, MATLAB/Simulink, SolidWorks.
- You are fluent in English (written and oral).
