What You Will Do

As a member of the CWF Division Office, the selected candidates will be responsible for providing support to the Facility Operations Manager in the day-to-day business operations functions and in the development and deliverance of facility operations-focused programs, policies, processes, and procedures in support of safe and compliant facility operations. Candidate will manage and ensure the timely completion of discrete technical or operational projects; establishes technical requirements for the project; defines project deliverables, budgets, and schedules; and oversees the project team in the planning, tracking, and execution of the project from initiation to completion. Projects are a set of related activities needed to produce specific products or services to meet customers' requirements. Candidate will assist with coaching/mentoring of program and operations personnel in Conduct of Operations.

What You Need

Minimum Job Requirements:


  • Advanced knowledge of Operations, Maintenance and/or Radiation Protection experience in Navy Nuclear, Commercial Nuclear, Navy Ship Yard and/or DOE Nuclear Facility.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in implementing Formality of Operations in both nuclear and non-nuclear facilities
  • Advanced knowledge and experience interpreting and enforcing DOE Orders pertaining to Nuclear Facilities (DOE O 420.1c, Facility Safety and DOE O 422.1, Conduct of Operations)
  • Demonstrate working experience developing procedural controls tying level of detail and usage type commensurate with the consequence of miss-performance.
  • Demonstrate experience with providing expert guidance in interpreting governmental regulations and Laboratory policies impacting facility operations to ensure compliance.
  • Working experience in execution of nuclear facility Readiness Reviews
  • Demonstrated knowledge integrating facility specific requirements into readiness review and implementation verification review program documents.
  • Expertise and experience in systems engineering, statistical process control (SPC), and lean six sigma processes.
  • Identifies potential ConOps risks, developing risk mitigation strategies and corrective actions, and recommending risk acceptance/avoidance for all aspects of ConOps.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.

Education/Experience: Position requires a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution and 12 years related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.

DOE Order 426.2 : Requires Bachelors of Science, 2 years of job-related experience and 1 year of nuclear experience.

Work Environment:

Work Location : The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.

Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. Additional Details

Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2 . Please note that this requirement applies only to citizens of the United States. Foreign nationals are subject to a similar requirement under DOE Order 142.3A.

Clearance: Q (Position will be cleared to this level). Selected applicants will be subject to a background investigation conducted by or on behalf of the Federal Government, and must meet eligibility requirements* for access to classified matter. This position requires a Q clearance. and obtaining such clearance requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon the position, additional authorization to access classified information may be required, which may or may not be available to dual citizens. Receipt of a Q clearance and additional access authorization ultimately is a decision of the Federal Government and not of Triad.

*Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.

426.2: This position is subject to DOE Order 426.2, Personnel Selection, Training, and Qualification Requirements for DOE Nuclear Facilities, which establishes entry-level requirements to ensure candidates selected for specific positions can successfully perform the requirements of the job.

New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer.

Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.
