Job Title Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Postdoc
Location Los Alamos, NM, US
Organization Name C-IIAC/Inorganic Isotope & Actinide Chemistry
Minimum Salary
Maximum Salary
What You Will Do
The portfolio of work in the NMR and NQR facilities at LANL is rapidly expanding to include a suite of radiological materials. These materials are critical for developing the next generation of nuclear reactors. Additionally, the first ever measurement of the optical transition of 229 Th was recently measured, and our team is involved in a race to discover and characterize new materials for a Th-based nuclear clock.
We are looking for a motivated post-doctoral researcher experienced in magnetic resonance spectroscopic techniques who is interested in joining our interdisciplinary team in the search for new radiological materials. You will use high-field solid-state NMR and NQR to measure the local structure of materials; use these measurements to predict structure/function relationships; develop new equipment and methods for the safe measurement of radioactive materials. Join us to push the limits of magnetic resonance.
