Job Description Summary
The Asheville CMC APQP/Zero Defects Leader will drive deployment of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) within the site to ensure on-time supply of production engine components, at cost and rate, that conform to GE Aerospace manufacturing and quality requirements.
The APQP/Zero Defects Leader will lead standardization of tools and process to be followed throughout the business and will work closely with other functions to develop the strategy and effectively implement a zero-defect culture through the Aerospace AS9145 APQP standard and AS13100 quality standard. They will ensure that the site will continually develop the Management of Change process in line with the design intent of the customer and verify their systems to ensure they are compliant with the end customer's needs. You will be an APQP functional and technical expert within the site, with responsibility for leading operational improvement, implementation of APQP for Part Transitions and mentoring technical talent within the site.

- Lead and coordinate APQP activities with site quality, engineering, operations, and EHS teams.
- Share lessons learned and best practices with APQP part family leader.
- Define, monitor and own APQP metrics at the site and driving action plans to improve performance.
- Ensure APQP activities are completed and documented in compliance with site procedures and industry standards.
- Review, update and standardize APQP site procedures to align with AS9145 and AS13100 standards
- Provide APQP training and mentorship to site teams, fostering technical growth and a zero-defect mindset.
- Drive initiatives to achieve zero defects in manufacturing and supply chain processes.
- Implement root cause analysis and corrective actions to address quality issues and prevent recurrence.
- Monitor and analyze quality metrics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy.
- Possesses a strong understanding of industry's best practices and how their area of expertise integrates with other functions, while maintaining an awareness of competitive dynamics and key differentiators in the market.
- Applies sound judgment and demonstrates the ability to propose innovative solutions beyond established parameters to address complex manufacturing processes involving technical diversity and interdependent production cycles.
- Leverages technical expertise and analytical thinking, utilizing a range of internal resources and selecting external inputs to make informed decisions.
- Act as a resource for colleagues, providing guidance and leadership on complex manufacturing processes.
- Lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements, ensuring alignment with business goals.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of Manufacturing experience)
- Minimum of 3 years of quality assurance and control
Desired Characteristics
- Strong knowledge of APQP, AS9145, AS13100, and other aerospace quality standards. Experience with root cause analysis, corrective actions, and quality systems.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, mentor technical talent, and drive cultural change toward zero defects.
- Ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and develop actionable solutions to improve quality and delivery performance.
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with customers and ensure alignment with their requirements.
- Demonstrated experience in driving process improvements and implementing lean methodologies.
