Job Summary:
Performs a variety of technical and complex clerical duties as the principal clerical assistant in support of the implementation and coordination of waterworks programs; assists in maintaining databases, financial records, and procurement documents; and performs other related duties as required.

Examples of Duties:

  • Performs specialized functions, researching files and collecting information to assist in coordinating waterworks programs and projects;
  • Assists in monitoring and maintaining ongoing waterworks programs and in developing and implementing new programs;
  • Prepares reports and summaries of program activities for presentation or use in further planning;
  • Maintains databases related to program and project information for waterworks operations;
  • Reviews and records transactions for electronic subsidiary ledger accounts and reconciles accounts related to waterworks projects;
  • Assists with the preparation, review, and monitoring of procurement contracts for services, construction projects, equipment purchases, and inventory;
  • Prepares advertisements for solicitation of bids and final settlements;
  • Compiles data and queries computer programs to prepare daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports relating to waterworks program activities for budget and planning purposes;
  • Responds to customer inquiries by interpreting and applying program policies and procedures;
  • Conducts research regarding program and project issues, cost estimates, and related matters;
  • Prepares correspondence, notices, and public information materials;
  • Performs fiscal recordkeeping functions, including monitoring accounts and reconciling program budgets;
  • Assists in maintaining parts and materials inventory for waterworks programs;
  • May testify in court regarding program records and other related matters; and
  • Performs other related duties.

Minimum Qualifications:

Training and Experience:

A combination of education and experience substantially equivalent to graduation from high school; and
  • three (3) years of specialized work experience in financial and program/project recordkeeping.
