Working under the direct supervision of the Asset Management team, the Solar Asset Specialist will support the monitoring, optimization, and maintenance of distributed energy assets, with a primary focus on commercial-scale solar projects. This role will be responsible for service report creation, asset monitoring, and ensuring a world class customer experience across the asset portfolio. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Post Construction Services team, as well as sales, engineering, and operations, and external vendors to drive improvements, resolve issues, and deliver value to both internal and external stakeholders.

Our Solar Asset Specialist contributes to the team by:
  • Leading and managing the O&M/service pricing by estimating internal costs (labor, material, equipment), soliciting vendor quotes, and applying the required margins and markups where required.
  • Developing and maintaining detailed cost models and pricing tools to support accurate and competitive service proposals.
  • Creating, maintaining, and delivering comprehensive service and performance reports for both internal stakeholders and external customers, including annual and monthly summaries.
  • Supporting and providing inputs to service dispatch, warranty claim management, production guarantee administration, customer invoicing, and response time guarantee supervision.
  • Engaging with clients to manage inquiries, set expectations, and provide updates on repair timelines and service activities through our service management system.
  • Monitoring the performance of distributed energy assets (primarily solar- but may include CHP units and fuel cells), identify underperforming assets, and dispatch repair/service tickets as needed.
  • Tracking project and portfolio performance, analyze system alerts, and resolve issues, recording detailed information in ticketing and monitoring platforms.
  • Collaborating with vendors and partners to resolve programming issues, set up site alerts, and optimize asset management parameters.
  • Leading or supporting continuous improvement projects to advance asset management objectives and operational excellence.
  • Preparing and presenting effective presentations and reports to various audiences, including executives, customers, and partners.

The core components needed to be successful in this role are (i.e. must haves):
  • At least 5 years of experience in a related renewable energy field - Preferred
  • Experience in contract management related to energy facilities - Preferred
  • Budgeting, forecasting, energy industry research, and team building are highly desirable.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in the Solar Industry or 3 years' experience in the Electrical Field
  • Business Acumen: A demonstrated understanding of general business operations

  • Quick Learner: Ability to rapidly learn and adapt that learning to drive customer focused solutions

  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to be open and authentic, providing a vision and motivation that encourages and supports others to work toward a common mission
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record and reliable transportation
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent - Required
