We are seeking a Oil Well P&A Project Assistant (EIR Scientist 2). This position can be fully remote but candidate must be based in CA and will report to our Modesto, CA team! Come join us!

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Communicate with and align team beyond scope of work to maximize outcomes for all stakeholders.
2. Promote an environment where Atlas team members establish relationships and build trust with their clients and stakeholder counterparts.
3. Analyze well files of active and idle wells to ensure proper CalGEM procedures and regulations are in place and met.
4. Add new and missing data reports (daily operations, casing, cementing, perforation, wellbore equipment) to the database system and quality check existing data reports.
5. Create wellbore diagrams based on the information from available well history.
6. Collaborate with team members to discuss Atlas-wide standards for creating well reports with irregular wellbores/sidetracks/completions.
7. Assist the engineering manager in preparing well histories.

Minimum requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in an environmental or physical science from an accredited university.
2. Experience preparing and interpreting well bore diagrams for oil wells.
3. Understand wellbore construction, casing integrity, and cement integrity.
4. Ability to analyze well data.
5. Minimum of 5-years of experience in oil well operations (re-completion and/or abandonment).
6. Experience researching and reviewing well history.
7. Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders, including regulators, contractors, and other engineers.
