Delon Hampton & Associates seeks a self-motivated, purpose-driven Senior Wastewater Engineer to support our client's Department of Pumping and Sewer Operations (DPSO) and Process Facilities Program Manager (PFPM). This position will provide technical, operational, and coordination support to ensure the successful delivery of capital projects and continued compliance of wastewater system operations.

The engineer will work onsite full-time, rotating between client sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain alignment among client stakeholders by communicating the status of ongoing and planned capital projects, as well as urgent or emergency operational needs.
• Assist with identifying and resolving issues to maintain regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate shutdowns, outages, and project schedules with contractors, PFPM, and client personnel.
• Develop goals and objectives for unique and complex wastewater facility projects.
• Review and interpret complex design drawings, plans, and specifications for modifications to existing facilities and the construction of new wastewater facilities.
• Evaluate designs for functionality, cost-effectiveness, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards, identifying and resolving potential issues.
• Define project scope and work type; interface with vendors, contractors, and consultants to direct, coordinate, inspect, and accept work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
• 12-20 years of demonstrated experience in project delivery and operational support for wastewater facility projects.
• Strong communication skills with proven client-facing experience to lead discussions across diverse stakeholder groups.
• District of Columbia Licensed Professional Engineer (PE), or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
