Job Description

Position Summary: -
  • We are seeking a dedicated and proactive individual to join our Energy Storage team as a Electrical Engineering Intern. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience testing new subsystems to be used in large battery backup products deployed with Vertiv uninterruptible power supplies. Subsystems include batteries and electronic subassemblies. This position works closely with others from research & development to deliver a solution while meeting cost, schedule, and performance targets.

Responsibilities: -
  • Develop and test electrical designs for new battery management systems.
  • Participate in the execution of testing and compliance related activities.
  • Assist with schematic development.
  • Interact with outside vendors and suppliers as needed (e.g. clarifying specifications, obtaining quotes for equipment).
  • Understand applicable national and international standards and ensure designs comply.
  • Assist in sustaining engineering activities, e.g. evaluation of substitute components.
  • Provide occasional engineering support for test activities being undertaken by other Vertiv product groups.

Qualifications: -
  • Must be pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated work ethic and detail-orientation
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Ability and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment and produce high-quality work
  • Collaboration and teamwork
  • Knowledge of NEC or NFPA 855 is desirable but not required.
  • Experience using 2-dimensional CAD is desirable but not required.
