Key Responsibilities

We are seeking a versatile and reliable Utility Operator to join our manufacturing team. The Utility Operator will perform a variety of tasks to support production operations, ensuring efficient workflow and a clean, safe work environment. This role requires flexibility, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced shop setting.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Backup Parts Washer: Support cleaning and maintenance of parts using washing equipment.
  • Backup Vibe Bowl: Operate vibratory finishing equipment to deburr and polish parts as required.
  • Secondary Operations: Perform secondary operations on milling machine, lathe, and drill press to support production.
  • Material Handling: Unload raw materials and manage stock changes to ensure continuous production flow.
  • Hose Testing: Act as backup for hose testing duties, following established protocols.
  • CNC Bar Cutting: Operate CNC machines to cut bars accurately according to specifications.
  • Backup Chip Hauler: Assist in transporting and managing metal chips as needed.

General Shop Maintenance:
  • Scrape and clean shop floors to maintain a safe and organized workspace.
  • Replace light bulbs as needed.
  • Perform routine floor cleaning to uphold shop cleanliness standards.
  • Refill floor dry containers to manage spills effectively.
  • Collect and dispose of garbage
  • All other duties as assigned

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots may be required.
  • This position involves working in a manufacturing shop with exposure to machinery, noise, and metalworking processes.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with CNC machines, lathes, drill presses, or similar equipment is a plus.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, standing for extended periods, and manual labor.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing production needs.
  • Basic inventory management skills.
  • Team player with good communication skills and a willingness to learn.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or shop environment preferred.
