Job Description
Under direction, assists the Induced Seismicity Department in its mission to mitigate Oklahoma seismicity and associated risks. This position will also participate as a member of the GIS Team.
Typical Functions
• Analysis of injection trends within the Seismicity Area of Interest using Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
• Seismic activity review to include Operator communication, mitigation plan review, and possible Directive action.
• Geoscience Data Support- well log analysis supporting geologic evaluations, including cross-section interpretation, and reservoir characterization.
• GIS data analysis and project support.
• GIS application creation, development, and maintenance.
• Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
A minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited university specializing in Geology, GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, Petroleum Engineering, Geophysics, or related fields. Field and/or Regulatory experience desired, plus, three years' experience in environmental science, geology, hydrology, engineering, petroleum land management or a closely related field.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of current geology principles and practices as related to oil and gas exploration and production; effective supervisory techniques; statutes and Commission rules and regulations regarding the oil and gas industry; technical report writing; and record keeping. GIS experience with ESRI products required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft SQL, Python Scripting, and Quality assurance.
Special Requirements
Applicants must possess a valid Oklahoma Driver License at the time of employment and maintain a valid license while employed in this job family. Applicants must be willing and able to perform any/all job-related travel. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.

Core work hours for the Oklahoma Corporation Commission are Monday through Friday, 8am-4:30pm. This schedule may require flexibility based on the needs of the agency.
• Evening or weekend work may be required based on seismic activity
• Remote work may be required based on the needs of the agency, division, and program. Applicant must be willing and able to work BOTH on-site and remotely, generally in the applicant's home. Applicant must have a secure internet connection and Teams phone capabilities during scheduled working hours.
