This Position reports to:
Global Engineering Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for defining and implementing short and long term category strategies for the Steel structure and Weldment category.

You will be the owner of the category strategy and tactics supporting Robotics Project Business and Engineering Delivery Platform operations. You will be responsible to define, qualify and develop a supply base best fitted to support the demand of different customer segments (EDP sites and Local Business Lines) and deliver outstanding performances in terms of Quality, Delivery, Cost and Sustainability

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Develop and execute global category strategies in alignment with business projects and stakeholder needs.
• Drive and manage supplier performance (Quality, Delivery, Cost, Sustainability) to meet business targets.
• Conduct market research, benchmark against industry trends, and build a best-in-class supply base.
• Create should-cost models and act as the key account for all supplier-related matters in the category.
• Build strong partnerships with suppliers' top management and manage the global supply base to support ABB Robotics' growth across Europe, Asia, and North America.

Qualifications for the role:

• Extensive industry experience with a minimum of 8 years in engineering or manufacturing, with a strong understanding of operational and technical environments.
• Expertise in supply chain and category management with a proven track record in managing mechanical commodities and driving strategic sourcing initiatives.
• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills with the ability to build trust, influence stakeholders, and foster strong supplier relationships across all levels.
• Global mindset with fluency in English and the ability to work effectively in diverse, multicultural teams.
• Willingness to travel internationally to engage with teams and suppliers across Europe, Asia, and North America.
• Proven leadership capability with the ability to influence without direct authority, coach teams, and lead cross functional projects to success.
