Are you a leader of large teams or a Principal or Senior Engineer ready to lead a passionate team, deliver meaningful infrastructure projects, and leave a lasting impact on SA's built environment?

South Australia is on a steep growth trajectory. We're looking for a Discipline Manager - Water, Environment & Industrial who's excited to guide and grow a talented team, engage in hands-on technical leadership, and contribute to projects that span the water, defence, buildings, industrial, transport and civil infrastructure sectors.

This is more than a management role-it's your chance to bring people together, build belonging, and grow professionally while delivering projects that matter.

Position Overview:

You'll be at the heart of a high-performing, collaborative team, mentoring future leaders, shaping technical excellence, and directly influencing outcomes across iconic projects. As both a people and technical leader, you'll be empowered to:
  • Lead a high-performing team with a focus on safety, wellbeing, collaboration, and impact.
  • Create a positive and thriving culture through meaningful work and tailored development pathways.
  • Influence the future of our business through strategic workforce planning, business improvement, and client-facing work.
  • Bring people together-you'll shape a team culture where everyone feels they belong and can thrive by driving team engagement, career growth and capability development.
  • Deliver technically excellent designs and guide project teams through all phases-from concept to delivery.
  • Engage with clients and stakeholders to develop tailored solutions, prepare proposals and support business growth.
  • Managing project budgets, team resources, and ensuring the highest standard of delivery.

Skills & Experience Required:
  • A degree in Chemical Engineering, or a Mechanical Engineering discipline. Postgraduate qualifications are highly regarded.
  • 15+ years of consulting/design experience.
  • A collaborative approach to leadership and problem-solving. Chartered Engineer (CPEng) status (or ability to attain within 6 months).
  • Proven experience managing teams and delivering complex projects.
  • Technical expertise in water, defence and/or industrial infrastructure, complemented by a well-connected business network in SA to help strengthen and grow our local capability.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to mentor and inspire others.

Why join KBR:
