Your role and responsibilities

This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate to turn data into real impact. You will capture and analyse production information, designing dashboards that highlight key performance indicators and provide clear insights into business performance. By applying modern tools and methods, you will help ensure data is accurate and reliable, keeping stakeholders informed and confident in their decisions.

You will also have the chance to develop your analytical skills, contribute to data-driven decision-making, and explore opportunities for improvement across operations. This role is ideal for someone energetic, curious, and eager to make a real contribution while growing their career in a dynamic, innovative environment.

The work model for the role is: #LI-onsite.

This role is contributing to the Electrification Smart Power Division in Napier, NZ.

You will be mainly accountable for:
  • Capture and analyse production and operational data to support performance visibility.
  • Design and build interactive dashboards that make key performance indicators clear and actionable.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity using modern systems and methods.
  • Monitor manufacturing metrics (such as throughput, yield, and downtime) and help identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to provide reporting and insights that contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Explore and suggest new technology tools to enhance data collection and reporting.

This position reports to the Integrated Production Unit Leader.

Qualifications for the role

We are looking for a recent graduate or early-career professional with a degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related field who is eager to apply their skills and grow within a dynamic environment.

To be considered for this role, you will need to have:

  • An interest in manufacturing processes and operational performance, with a willingness to learn about KPIs, metrics, and Lean Six Sigma principles
  • Strong skills in Excel and an interest in learning tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or SQL.
  • Curiosity for how data can improve real-world processes.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving mindset, and a willingness to learn.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with the Integrated Production Unit team and wider stakeholders
  • Current NZ residency and the right to work in NZ.
