Role Synopsis
Reporting to the Permian Completions Manager, the Completions Superintendent is responsible for leading program-level field execution of completion operations-including fracturing, wireline, coil tubing, snubbing, rig work, well intervention, and workover activities-across our well sites. This role is part of a shared leadership model, working in close coordination with another Superintendent to oversee a team of up to 30 well site leaders. Each Superintendent is accountable for a subset of the team, typically managing approximately 8-15 WSL's directly. Together, the Superintendents ensure consistent execution, safety, and performance across the entire completions program with clear and consistent handover on a rotational 14/14 schedule. Success in this role requires a strong sense of ownership and accountability. The Superintendent is expected to lead by example, drive operational discipline, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Field leadership is complemented by extended responsibilities including operational planning, development of HSE and operational policies, and post-project evaluations. The Superintendent plays a key role in aligning field execution with broader program objectives and ensuring that operational standards are met across all activities. We are seeking an experienced leader who will take initiative, own outcomes, and collaborate effectively within a shared leadership structure. Ideal candidates will demonstrate clear communication, a proactive mindset, and the ability to lead teams through complex operational challenges.

Key Accountabilities
- Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Leadership Accountable for HSE performance across all completions operations. Ensures implementation of HSE standards, procedures, and BPX Energy Safety Management Systems. Demonstrates visible HSE leadership during wellsite visits, operational meetings, and daily activities.
- Incident Management and Emergency Support Oversees reporting, investigation, and follow-up of all incidents and near misses. Promotes HSE awareness through drills, exercises, and self-auditing practices. Provides support and control during emergency situations.
- Operational Execution and Optimization Delivers safe, efficient, and high-quality completions operations. Ensures proper planning and assignment of activities across assigned personnel within the Completions Operations Team. Interfaces with project teams to resolve technical issues and manage SIMOPS and interactive operations safely.
- Stakeholder Engagement Maintains professional relationships with partners, landowners, primary completions contractors, and service providers to ensure safe and efficient well delivery.
- Planning and Technical Review Participates in multi-disciplinary well planning, execution, and review processes. Collaborates with Completions Engineers and assigned Well Site Leaders (WSLs) to review programs and detailed instructions. Challenges existing practices to identify opportunities for technical and operational improvement.
- Performance Monitoring and Budget Oversight Reviews well progress against plan and communicates impacts to schedule and development delivery. Monitors AFE expenditures and budget performance. Approves contractor invoices and timesheets. Assists the Completions Operations Manager in preparing field-level budgets.
- Team Development and Coaching Coaches and develops assigned staff to reach their full potential. Ensures technical and soft skills training are undertaken to support team growth and performance.
- Administrative and Coordination Duties Supports the team by preparing periodic and special reports, attending daily coordination meetings, and contributing to front-end loading processes.
- Supervision and Compliance Guides and supervises WSLs to ensure effective team contribution and alignment with HSE policies, BPX Energy Operating Practices, and regulatory requirements. Continuously reviews work methods and performance standards to align with completions best practices.
- Escalation and Decision Support Refers major issues or program changes to the Completions Manager for decision-making. Work accomplishments are subject to managerial review and oversight.
- Policy Alignment and Initiative Operates in accordance with company policies and professional standards. Takes initiative in evaluating operations and providing recommendations for improvement.
- Site Readiness and Transition Management Responsible for ensuring the next location is prepared for completions activity and proactively raising awareness of any issues or concerns that may impact execution.
Essential Experience and Education
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in completion operations, including fracturing, coil tubing and workover rig operations. Previous supervisory experience preferred
- Proven leadership skills and management experience and be proficient with MS O365 applications (Word / Excel / Outlook), and Landmark OpenWells software
- High degree of competency in hydraulic fracturing, cased hole wireline, workover rig, coil tubing and slickline operations, with significant experience with horizontal wells.
- Problem solving skills, ability to communicate effectively and ability to supervise a fast-paced completions program
- IADC Well Control Certification. If does not currently possess will be required to obtain.
- Applicants are required to possess a current, valid driver license and the ability to meet and maintain eligibility requirements to drive a Company vehicle
- High school Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited state-certified program
