RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct pipeline as-built surveying and analyze pipeline geometry and inspection survey data.
• Create high-resolution Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) from LiDAR datasets.
• Design and produce pipeline alignment sheets, plan/profile views, and cross-sections using Civil3D, AutoCAD Map3D, or ArcMap.
• Perform coordinate transformations and manage projections and datums with precision.
• Collaborate with engineering and field teams to ensure accurate spatial data integration.
• Develop and maintain data manipulation routines—experience with MS Visual Studio is a strong asset.
• Ensure data quality and compliance with project and regulatory standards.

Expected:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geomatics, GIS, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in GIS engineering, preferably in the pipeline or energy sector.
• Proficiency in Civil3D, AutoCAD Map3D, ArcMap, and LiDAR processing tools.
• Deep understanding of coordinate systems, projections, and geodetic datums.
• Experience with spatial databases and scripting (Python, Visual Studio, etc.).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently to meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
• Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Alberta.
