Job Description Summary

As a contract performance manager you will have a major impact on GE profitability through owning overall contract performance, inclusive of total cost of ownership via safety, quality, on time delivery, unit price, and supplier relationship management.

This role is responsible for ownership of contract productivity and overall supplier accountability.

In this role, you will create and lead operational rhythms with internal and external stakeholders to drive mutually successful outcomes for GE and GE partners. You will provide the necessary support on pre- and post-contractual administration & management, terms & conditions (T&Cs) of the contract, and the management of claims. The role requires cross-functional leadership capability and has autonomy within your respective supply base. The role has a major impact on overall GE profitability. High levels of evaluative judgment and operational acumen are required to achieve outcomes.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Interprets internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes, or services
  • Utilizes understanding of industry trends to inform decision making process to minimize total landed costs
  • Create long-term strategy for suppliers and JVs to help drive accretive operating margins
  • Owning commodity business continuity planning process to include risk identification, abatement plans, and actioning countermeasures
  • Creates and leads cross-functional stakeholder engagement to develop market analysis and associated strategies
  • Ensure developed strategies align with supplier relationship management as defined by supplier segmentation
  • Creates long-term strategy for given commodity responsibility, focused on ensuring business outcomes are met, inclusive of BD activity (mergers and acquisitions) and or vertical integration
  • Leads and or partners with engineering, product lines, and GE supply chain shops on developing make/buy strategies
  • Provide deal support for the commodity, driving consistency amongst cross-functional stakeholders, ensuring developed commercial strategies are implemented at an individual deal level
  • Ensures commodity financial CTQs (Critical to Quality) are understood and balanced to reach the desired business outcomes
  • Provides commodity expertise in modeling of new deals, suppliers, and technologies
  • Be knowledgeable of next generation technology and how we'd like to incorporate into in-service fleets and future New Product Introductions (NPI)
  • Participates in selection of suppliers for NPIs
  • Works with cross-functional stakeholders to transition military classified hardware and suppliers from development into production
  • Lead budgeting, strategy, and other operating rhythms as required


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years (Commercial Operations, Sourcing/ Procurement, Supplier Relationship Management, Sales, Supply Chain, or Contract Management roles) experience + minimum of 5 years (Commercial Operations, Sourcing/ Procurement, Supplier Relationship Management, Sales, Supply Chain, or Contract Management roles) experience
