Drill Foreman

Key Responsibilities:
Supervise drilling crews and subcontractors during underground construction projects.
Coordinate daily drilling activities, including planning hole paths, selecting drill bits, and managing equipment logistics.
Operate or oversee operation of drill rigs, including mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Conduct pre-shift inspections and safety meetings; ensure compliance with all safety protocols and procedures.
Monitor drilling performance, adjust parameters as needed, and troubleshoot equipment issues.
Maintain accurate records of drilling progress, materials used, and crew activity.
Communicate regularly with project managers, engineers, and other trades to ensure alignment with project goals and timelines.
Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of drilling fluids and materials.
Assist with training and mentoring of drilling personnel.
Enforce company policies, OSHA/MSHA regulations, and site-specific rules.
Daily Production submission.
Equipment routine maintenance.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school certification a plus.
5+ years of experience in underground construction, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or foreman role.
Strong knowledge of drilling techniques (e.g., horizontal directional drilling, raise boring, jack and bore, etc.) and underground construction methods.
Experience with underground utility installation, tunneling, or mining preferred.
Proven leadership and communication skills.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
Working knowledge of job safety analysis (JSA), hazard assessments, and related safety documentation.
Ability to work in physically demanding conditions, including confined spaces and varying weather.
Working Conditions
Majority of work is performed on active construction sites.
May involve long hours, night shifts, and weekend work depending on project demands.
Must be able to work in underground environments, including confined or low-light areas.
Licenses/Certifications (Preferred or Required):
OSHA 30 or MSHA Certification
Valid Driver's License (CDL may be preferred depending on equipment use)
