Completion and Commissioning Manager

Location - St.Johns, NL

The Completions and Commissioning Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating all activities related to mechanical completion, commissioning, and system turnover for complex industrial or infrastructure projects. This role ensures that systems are safely and efficiently transitioned from construction to operations in accordance with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

Your role within the team:

• Develop and implement the Completions and Commissioning Execution Plan, including system readiness, energization, and turnover strategies.
• Lead and manage a multidisciplinary commissioning team across electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, and control systems.
• Administer and maintain the Systems Completion Database using platforms.
• Coordinate pre-commissioning, commissioning, and dynamic testing activities with contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Oversee the preparation and execution of hydrotest packages, energization readiness reviews, and functional testing.
• Manage and close out punch list items, ensuring timely resolution and documentation.
• Interface with Project Controls to align commissioning activities with the integrated project schedule and milestones.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and quality standards, including preparation of Take-Over Dossiers and handover documentation.
• Provide regular reporting to senior management on system status, milestone readiness, and risk mitigation.
• Develop and issue site procedures, work instructions, and commissioning documentation.
• Liaise with engineering, construction, operations, and external stakeholders to ensure seamless transition to operations.

The ideal candidate:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Process, or related discipline).
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation or equivalent certification preferred.
• Minimum 10-15 years of experience in completions and commissioning, ideally in large-scale industrial or infrastructure projects.
• Strong working knowledge of completion management systems and commissioning methodologies.
• Proven leadership and coordination skills in multi-disciplinary environments.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Experience working in remote, regulated, or high-risk environments is an asset.
• Work Conditions:
  • May require site-based work, rotational schedules, or extended hours during critical phases.
  • Collaborative work environment with engineering, construction, and operations teams.
  • Travel may be required depending on project location.
