Technical & Interface - Technical (Major Projects)
Part A: Job Specification
Job Purpose
Responsible for ensuring that all projects are managed in a manner consistent with established QGPMS. This position requires the ability to communicate effectively across major projects, multiple stakeholders, including project managers, executives, and contractors.
Act as a focal point for determination of specification and standard needs and interpretations and to communicate that information up and down through the organization.
Key Accountabilities
(Duties include but not limited to)
- Ensure compliance to QGPMS frameworks, procedures, industry standards and major project QG guidelines
Ensure that project teams adhere to governance policies and procedures, and regularly report project status and risks to senior management
Monitor and assess project performance in relation to key project governance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing best practices
Provide guidance and support to project team members on project governance and compliance matters
Plan and conduct regular project audits to ensure compliance with governance policies and procedures
Provide recommendations to senior management on the implementation of new project governance policies and procedures to improve project delivery and performance
Reporting and Relationships
- Reports to MP Quality Division Manager

Internal
- - Interfaces with various project teams and departments on resolving related issues that requires effective communication, initiative, flexibility and the ability to induce collaboration
Exhibits team leadership skills, integrity, interpersonal understanding, and self-confidence.
External - Regular contact with EPC Contractors / subcontractors / vendors and project stakeholders
Job Context & Major Challenge(s)
The role will require interaction across all QG major projects and EPC contractors. Major challenges include:
- Providing corporate oversight of projects to ensure governance controls are identified and implemented
Prioritizing involvement in project activities from early stage to ensure crucial controls in place
Multiple concurrent projects at different stages of execution requiring proactive approach working under pressure to provide necessary data while ensuring accurate and adequate details
Maintaining visibility of emerging regulations legal requirements, and industry updates that require action or change by Qatargas

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field
Knowledge and/or Experience
- At least 20 years of experience in project assurance role and risk management, with experience of managing complex projects
Proficient in QMS, ISO 9001, 29001, 140001, OHSAS 18001, and API Q2
Knowledge of regulatory compliance in the oil and gas industry.
Strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively navigate complex stakeholder dynamics.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills, with ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels
Strong understanding of project management methods and project governance frameworks
Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing project governance policies and procedures
Experience of developing and implementing project assurance processes and procedures
Strong understanding of project management tools such as Prince2 or Agile
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong Knowledge in various Quality tools, Six Sigma and lean process
Demonstrated experience in Auditing Projects organizations. Certified Lead Quality Auditor is a plus
Experience in the oil and gas industry is strongly preferred
