RESPONSIBILITIES & MAIN TASKS

Floatel tendering:

  • Responsible for coordinating and supervising floatel tender exercises - in accordance with the specification provided, at the best possible price and at the required time for all parties.
  • Liaise with assigned Floatel Manager to ensure timely definition and implementation of the Floatel Specification, Responsibility Matrix, technical and campaign procedural requirements during contract negotiations with owner representatives.
  • Support floatel market screening with Marine Brokers.
  • Prepare Requests for Quotation (RFQ) including technical, commercial and legal requirements.
  • Issue the RFQs to the selected owners.
  • Expedite and obtain suitable quotations and co-ordinate technical clarifications and communications during bidding. Negotiate with owners and obtain the best price.
  • Review quotations and issue the cost comparison sheets when required.
  • Prepare the purchase recommendations.
  • Liaise with Operations Contract Manager to support in floatel contract negotiations with selected owners.
  • Manage contract deviation sheet implementation, negotiations and close out prior signing.
  • Support Floatel qualification process of chosen accommodation vessels, to match company and client requirements.
  • Support Marine & Naval Category Manager in Floatel dashboard updates, Floatel strategy implementation and potential long-term contracts.

Floatel execution:

  • Responsible for coordinating and supervising floatel contract executions – in accordance with the contract signed with the floatel owner and with client’s requirements.
  • Issue the Purchase Requisitions (PRs) and expedite the approval process.
  • Prepare and issue the Purchase Orders (POs).
  • Verify the acknowledgement of POs and chase for payments.
  • Prepare weekly progress report on purchasing activities (PR/PO/invoicing/payment status)
  • Monitor expenditures to ensure forecasted costs remain within the payment scheme and approved campaign budget.
  • Liaise with assigned Floatel Manager and/or Floatel Coordinators to ensure timely definition and implementation of Floatel Specification, Responsibility Matrix of project individual Floatel requirements, HSSE, technical and campaign procedural requirements during contract negotiations with owner representatives.
  • Monitor Owner’s and Floatel’s performance by setting up KPIs.
  • Vendor Management.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Specific skills / expertise / product: 

  • Technician/engineer specialized in marine/naval or University degree or equivalent, with strong technical skills/experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in commercial shipping or offshore floating services business, preferably with an oil and gas industry.
  • Knowledge of marine vessels (ideally accommodation vessels) and marine procedures.
  • Understanding of maritime contracts (e.g., BIMCO CP contracts) and shipping regulations.
  • Marine/ Naval/ Maritime expertise/background
  • Knowledge of materials import/export procedures and regulations.
  • Familiar with purchasing regulations and legislation in the country of operation.
  • Familiar with materials administration and purchasing systems, preferably AMOS/IFS and MS applications.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Ability to travel internationally including offshore.
