Main responsibilities

Risk activities

You lead the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) strategy, based on a thorough understanding of Group activities and industry best practices. This consists of improvement and execution of the SBM Offshore ERM framework, including

• • Maintenance and improvements of the ERM components (i.e. its processes, tooling, risk criteria, risk breakdown structure and reporting mechanism) through leading discussion in the Risk Assurance Committee (RAC) and its implementation thereof
  • Clear communication of the ERM components to the Pillars, Functions and countries
  • Continuous improvement of the Risk Management Platform (Dante) consisting of the company’s R&O
  • Facilitation of the semi-annual R&O assessments with the country organizations
  • Close cooperation with the Sustainability department on the identification and assessment of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) related R&O, in line with CSRD
  • Quarterly review and of report of the measurements of Risk Appetite Statements and the Company Risks and Actions
  • Report and discuss on a monthly basis the progress of risk assurance to the Risk Assurance Committee (RAC)
  • Develop tooling and innovation around ERM activities.

Together with a Business Risk Officer, you support the Projects in their execution of Project Risk Management. This includes

• • Support to the main stakeholders (Project Directors, -Managers and Project Control) of their R&O identification and assessment through use of Monte Carlo analysis
  • Support to use the Risk Management Platform (Dante) as the single repository of R&O
  • Coordinate cross-functional and between Projects sharing of R&O best practices and insights
  • Leading training initiatives (in partnership with HR) to promote risk awareness

Internal Controls activities

With your team of three members and a community of regional Internal control experts, you oversee and lead the SBM Offshore Internal Control activities:

• • Coordinate the Annual Internal Controls campaign of design and test of controls
  • Support a team of IC Champions in the respective Pillars and functions
  • Review the efficiency of existing controls, update or develop controls where needed
  • Align Internal Controls with the new ways of working (with New ERP and End-2-End processes)
  • Incorporate ESG controls in the existing framework
  • Coordinate implementation of Financial authority in ERP tool
  • Monitor, improve and control  SOD conflicts in ERP tools
  • Monitor control remediation initiatives provided by Group Internal Audit
  • Report on Internal Control results to the Group Controller, CFO and the Audit Committee Develop tooling and innovation around Internal Control activities

Job requirements

Your 10+ years of global Risk & Control experience can be recognized through:

1. Recognition that a culture of risk appetite, risk identification and control mitigation are key to improve company performance and strategy execution
2. Successful design and implementation of annual and/or quarterly risk & control processes and its tooling
3. Successful implementation of application controls in ERP environment
4. Implementation of Non-Financial controls around ESG, Supply chain or other operational areas. 

Your technical experience is combined with soft skills and a good ability to translate strategic foresight into risks & opportunities (R&O), the capacity to engage and influence (senior) stakeholders, a pro-active attitude and excellent communication skills. You display robust people leadership skills, with proven ability to build and lead a team of functional experts.
