Kintec Global are delighted to be working exclusively with an independent global renewable energy projects developer, historically focusing on utility-scale solar photovoltaic ('PV') projects, having expanded recently to solar plus battery storage systems ('BESS') projects and currently also targeting servicing the green hydrogen industry.

What you will do
Based in a stunning Central London office, we are seeking a talented and motivated Power Market Financial Analyst to join their team and play a crucial role in developing solar PV and BESS project development pipelines, as well as expanding into new markets.
This role will act as a support function to a robust global development team and will report directly to the Chief Commercial Officer.
The Power Market Financial Analyst will assess the feasibility of utility-scale solar / PV projects in addition to innovative technology solutions such as BESS and green hydrogen.
Your role will be to analyse electricity market operations and projections of revenue streams related to our projects (merchant energy sales or PPAs, balancing, and capacity markets remuneration etc.) against project CAPEX, OPEX, energy yield, taxation etc.
You will engage with external stakeholders such as DNOs and market operators in addition to internal teams, liaising with planning, legal, finance and engineering teams.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive financial modelling and analysis for solar PV and BESS projects, considering various financial metrics, investment appraisal, and risk assessment.
Analyse electricity price curves and market trends to assess project viability and potential revenue streams and stacking over the project lifecycle (30 years).
Stay updated with the latest and expected market developments, regulations, and policies that could impact renewable energy projects and provide timely analysis to relevant stakeholders.
Prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate financial models, market analysis, and investment opportunities to internal and external stakeholders.
Experience and background required:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or Engineering - A master's degree is preferred.
Minimum 2 years of proven experience in financial modelling and analysis, specifically in the renewable energy sector with a focus on solar PV and BESS projects.
Familiarity with European electricity markets and a strong understanding of electricity price curves and revenue stacking for energy storage systems.
Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to make data-driven recommendations
