About this role: Site Supervisor - Rail
A respected rail and civil contractor with a strong presence in the Newcastle and Hunter Region is currently seeking highly skilled Site Supervisors to join their team.
Specialising in rail, mining, and civil infrastructure projects, this contractor offers a fantastic opportunity to work locally and be part of an award winning company culture.
In this role, you will play a key role in overseeing and coordinating the successful delivery of projects, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, and maintaining high-quality standards.
Responsibilities & Tasks:
- Participate in daily pre-starts, program, and handover meetings to align with project requirements and timelines.
- Review and understand project design and scope of works in collaboration with the engineering team.
- Coordinate and manage the work and performance of construction teams and subcontractors to ensure project milestones are met.
- Conduct regular safety observations and inspections, actively promoting a strong safety culture on site.
- Facilitate effective communication and handover of information between shifts and teams.
- Plan and coordinate upcoming work, ensuring appropriate resources are allocated.
- Proactively prioritise site safety, identifying potential risks and implementing strategies to minimise incidents.
What you need to bring:
- Proven experience as a Site Supervisor in the rail or civil construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to effectively manage teams and subcontractors.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities.
- Sound problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in record-keeping and documentation.
- Relevant certifications and qualifications in construction and safety.
