PROPERTY TAX ANALYST
Location: Calgary
Contract: 12 months, with a view to extend

Key Responsibilities

• Process current year tax notices to confirm property tax liability
• Review and compare tax notices to prior years and identify anomalies that require attention
• Code new tax rolls by using existing knowledge/information or by communicating with the stakeholders for updates
• Identify errors for correction/amendment resolution
• Complete and submit payment requests on timely basis and allocate cost internally
• Complete Journal Entries in SAP for cost allocation.
• Support the annual Assessment Review process to compile list of reportable changes to assessed locations from business partners
• Respond to internal and external queries
• Utilize/improve existing process for property tax allocation
• Investigate the use of available data analytics tools to improve the efficiency
• Track incoming assessments, tax notices and appeals, payments etc.
• Assist Commodity Tax team with various projects and tasks as required.

Qualifications & Experience

• Excellent Excel skills, data management and/or reporting capabilities
• Team player with ability to work independently
• Works well in a fast paced/changing environment that is deadline driven
• Well organized and with proven multitasking & prioritization skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Accounting or computer science diploma or certificate
• 5 years in data analytics or accounting functions
• Experience in SAP an asset
• Property tax knowledge an asset
