Financial Accountant
 
Purpose of Role

• 
  To provide financial accounting deliverables for the client, including input to the client's corporate and London Stock Exchange (LSE) Group financial reporting requirements.
  • The role will also assume other general accounting responsibilities as required.

Areas of Accountability, Responsibility and Competence:

• Preparation of financial information
  • Assist with the preparation of half year and year end reporting packs in compliance with IFRS and the client's accounting policy for consolidation by the Group Reporting Team.
  • Preparation of statutory financial statements for the legal entities in compliance with FRS 101 and clients accounting policy.
  • Interface with tax team to provide the relevant pre-tax reports and support required for tax accounting entries and tax computations.
  • Liaise with external auditors as appropriate.

 
Other Financial Accounting Responsibilities and Deliverables

• Responsibilities to be shared between financial accountants will include:
  • Preparation of depreciation calculations and associated variance analysis.
  • Preparation of IFRS16 lease accounting calculations.
  • Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Preparation of derivative accounting entries.
  • Responsible for transactional data entry to finance ledger system.
  • Completion of Government Questionnaires.
  • Assist in the development of the business intelligence reporting systems driving automation wherever possible.

Critical Skills, Qualifications, Experience, etc.:

• Degree and qualified accountant with appropriate industry experience.
• Good technical accounting knowledge of IFRS and SOAPs within upstream oil and gas accounting.
• Excellent financial accountant with proven track record.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Experience of finance systems and strong MS Office skills.
• Focus on service delivery to business and function.
• Flexible and responsive to stakeholder requirements and changing environment.
• Ability to deliver high quality work by deadlines and work effectively under time pressure.
• Ability to work on own initiative, proactively drive change, take responsibility, and manage tasks through to completion.
