About the role:
Kent are seeking a highly motivated and experienced National Industrial Relations (IR) Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of Industrial Relations within our organisation. Based in Perth and reporting to the Director, Human Resources, APAC, this role is critical in ensuring that our company maintains positive employee relations, complies with labour laws and regulations, and fosters a productive and harmonious work environment.
This is a newly created role and will work closely with the HR Director to design and implement a robust and sustainable Industrial Relations Strategy for the short and medium term.
In this role you will undertake the following duties:
- Develop and implement an effective industrial relations strategy aligned with the organisation's goals and values.
- Keep abreast of changes in Fair Work labour laws, regulations, and industry trends to ensure compliance and best practices.
- Supported by the IR team, provide ongoing strategic and operational advice to all current and future projects.
- Have full accountability and responsibility for the bargaining and negotiation of Enterprise Agreements, including re-negotiation of existing agreements, with the support of the IR team.
- Oversee and ensure that all industrial relations issues are dealt with in accordance with the IR Strategy, in that they are handled professionally, confidentially and in a timely manner (this includes disputes, grievances and attending any external hearings if required).
- Work closely with both internal and external legal counsels (when required).
- Support the HR Director, and APAC leadership team during bids, tenders and EOI’s with sound IR outcomes, that are in line with the IR strategy.
- Support the ongoing capability of the IR Team through upskilling, training and coaching.
The successful candidate will have extensive relative experience and a minimum of 5 years experience in a similar IR Manager role. Excellent collaboration, leadership, communication, organisation and relationship building skills, supported by extensive knowledge and experience in industrial and workplace relations, labour law, and strategy development are must for this role.
